Is TikTok Leading to Criminal Activities? Using Social Media is Not SAFE

Social media is not safe to use nowadays. We have seen many cases in this regard that a perpetrator committed his/her crime due to excessive use of social media. Another incident related to the same issue occurred recently.

Shaikh Adnan, a shopkeeper from Peshawar’s Qissa Khawani Bazar was killed by his student named Mukhtar, who was working for him for almost a decade.

Mukhtar was a good boy but was watching violent content on platforms like TikTok excessively. He also became fond of Pashto violent movies in a few days. This whole stuff turned his personality into a dark side which was observed by many people around him, but no one took it much into consideration before the incident.

Due to Mukhtar’s irresponsible behavior, Adnan dismissed him from his duty and selected another boy for his help. It was almost 6 months ago. Who knows that this decision will lead to that much regret for Mr. Adnan?

Mukhtar visited the shop again and again to request Mr. Adnan to take him back to work but as he was satisfied with the new worker so he always refused. One day, as Adnan again rejected his request, out of aggression, Mukhtar took out the pistol and shot him.

Locals took the wounded Adnan to hospital but he was not lucky enough to be rescued and lost his life in 24 hours. An FIR has been registered against Mr. Mukhtar in the local police station and hopefully, he will be behind bars soon.

This is not a single incident showing the side effects of violent and lurid content. There have been many incidents before that showed the negative side of these social media platforms. Parents must take their child’s social media use under observation to keep them safe from the dark side and excessive use.
