Adaptive Audio
The AirPods Pro 2 currently offers three noise control modes: Noise Cancellation blocks out the world, Transparency lets outside sounds in, and Off is like regular in-ear headphones.
Now, there’s something new called Adaptive Audio. It’s so good that you might not need the other modes anymore. Adaptive mode combines Transparency and Noise Cancellation based on what’s happening around you. Apple says it adjusts to give you the best experience.
So, when you’re doing dishes, you’ll enjoy Transparency, but when you turn on the vacuum cleaner, it switches to Noise Cancellation smoothly. You won’t even notice the change and the sound quality stays consistent. It’s pretty impressive when you realize how well it works.
Conversation Awareness
Since the first AirPods came out in 2017, they’ve been good at letting you pause the audio and hear what’s going on around you. With Auto-Pause, you just take one AirPod out, and the music stops. Pretty cool.
Now, there’s a new thing called Conversation Awareness. When you turn it on, the AirPods Pro 2 will automatically lower the volume and make people’s voices in front of you sound clearer. At the same time, it reduces the noise behind you.

Mute or Unmute
While not as flashy as Adaptive Audio or Conversation Awareness, the Mute/Unmute feature for AirPods Pro 2 is super handy for phone calls. Starting later this fall, you can mute and unmute yourself during calls by tapping the stem on your AirPods, no need to grab your phone.
And there’s more! Personalized Volume is another cool thing. It uses smart tech to adjust your audio based on where you are and how you like to listen.
