Court Orders Google to Block Anti-Islamic Content from YouTube

Google has been given the order from Federal Court to remove the content of anti-Islamic movie from YouTube which has stirred up anger in the Muslim World. Cindy Lee Garcia, the actress played the leading role in movie, claimed in the court that the role in the movie was copyrighted and according to the US laws, such content must be removed.

In a press conference she said that she was promised to play the role of “Desert Warrior” in the movie which later on dubbed and mad up, resulting the hatred and riots in the Muslim world.

The court gave 24 hours to Google for removing the controversial video from YouTube and warned no such content shall be uploaded on the YouTube again. Previously, Google had denied the White House request of removing the video from its server, causing the website’s access to block in many countries such as Libya, Russia, Egypt, Malaysia, India and Pakistan

If Google removes the video from YouTube, then chances are high that Government of Pakistan may unban the Video sharing website. However, Google does not seem to swallow the Court’s verdict and plans to fight the ruling just in a few days.

The Pakistani Government trying to find the ways to either remove the objectionable content from the website or have it blocked in Pakistan at least so that people get the access to the website without using any proxy server.
