Now wait is about to over for the 3G/4G technology as it will be launching in Pakistan quite soon. According to the sources, the preparation of information memorandum for 3G/4G is done by the telecommunication authority for the auction which is expected to be held by the second week of 2014. Information memorandum or IM is a detailed document contains the information required for the mobile phone operators such as spectrum pricing, criteria for taking the part in auction, prerequisites, limitation and other relevant information before making the document public.
For third generation telecom licenses, the auction is planned in March which is told by the Anusha Rehman, the minister of Information Technology and Telecom. In order to avoid any unwanted event, optimal efforts have been made by the PTA, mobile phone operators and 3G consultants who consulted the major stakeholders to note their opinion. Furthermore, PTA dedicated an entire section of their website for keeping the stakeholder well informed about the various developments in the auction process.
