 Ufone is a telecommunication company with which we all are very familiar. And we are also aware of its internship programs which it carries out to promote and boost the confidence of new talents. In the year of 2012, Ufone had its internship program by the name Summer Internship Program commonly known as SIP. It was a great program and got pretty much successful according to Ufone. This year in 2013 Ufone is planning to re-launch an internship program similar to the one they had last year. It has been scheduled for April 2013 and will commence at national level with numerous campus drives that will be held throughout the country. When all this will be happening, at that time students will be giving tests and interviews for the final selection.
These campus drives will occur in all renowned universities of cities including Karachi, Lahore, Sawabi and Islamabad. Those students will be eligible to be part of the program who are in 6th or 7th semester of Bachelor’s degree or in Master’s program, having a CPGA of 2.5 minimum or above from 2.5 and currently unemployed but with experience of not more than 3 to 6 months.
The concept behind this internship program is to set up a proper and a professional system for the country’s youth. It is to provide a unique opportunity to those talented students of Pakistan who never got the right chance to prove themselves. Interns will get exposure for about 6 to 8 weeks to real-time projects. This program wants to produce such people who can compete in this highly technical world of telecom sector. The final selections will be based on online tests, competency based screening and panel interviews. All those who will be able to cross all these huddles will move forward and become a part of this extraordinary program.
General Zulfiqar Ali Zaidi is the General Manager of Human resources at Ufone and he said that they conduct this program to nurture the talent of students so they can be part of the Ufone Telecommunication once they are done with their degree program. He said that it is necessary if they want to grow as a Company. During this program the interns get full attention from the experts who provide them with their expertise and train them well so later they can be part of one of the largest telecommunication companies of Pakistan, Ufone.
