Thursday, December 13, 2012 Intel Pakistan conducted a session in order to summarize its overall year performance before the media along with some highlights of the plan for the coming year. According to the Intel’s country manager for Pakistan, Mr. Naveeed Siraj, Intel’s third gen processors have changed the technology through which people communicate with each other using computers. He further added that Intel has been playing its role to make Asia a global powerhouse. This is being achieved by investing in education sector, skills of today and the entrepreneurship environment in Asia.

One of the key achievements during 2012 is the launching of 32nm Intel® Atom™ Z2760 processor for windows tablets. Intel exhibited the world of content navigation through a touch screen giving people more comfort and control. The revolutionary technology integration made computing more secure, faster and smarter than before. The advancements in ultrabooks and personal computers came with the launch of third generation Intel® Core™ and innovation of 22nm 3-D tri-gate transistors. Many Asian brands like Toshiba, Acer, Lenovo, and Asus have played their role in launching advance Windows 8 tablets and ultrabooks and with more than 140 designs coming ahead. This year Intel has provided its customers with 70 ultrabooks containing third generation processors and this will be continued for the next coming years. Intel revealed that they will be making 40 ultrabooks available in the market during 2013 containing touch screens and windows 8 supported. Out of them 10 will be a combination of a tablet and ultrabook as they will have convertible designs.
In the media briefing Intel’s Smartphones were also highlighted which were launched in India, Latin America, Europe and China. Intel is expecting to capture major share of the smartphone market by the end of 2015.
Intel called 2012 the “big data” growth year with the launching of Intel® Xeon® E5 processor family in March which has made data organization easy with the option of eight core. The launching of Intel® Xeon® E7 processor family enhanced the growth of the enterprise. This processor strongly supports vital applications and provides more reliability. According to estimates 15 billion devices will get connected to the internet by the end of 2015 which will give boost to the data growth rate and different challenges to IT. Xeon processors of Intel offer the extraction of meaningful data by high performance computing devices.
Intel International Science and Engineering Fair is the platform that provided 30 teams from Asia to show their talent. Around 1500 talented students from different parts of the world competed for their share in prizes and grants totaling US $3 million. Millions of teachers across the globe got helped form Intel® Teach Program to tie up technology in the classroom for better learning. 325000 teachers from Pkaistan were trained for this purpose. The market of Asia is growing at faster pace than before and during 2013 around 300 million customers will join the world of Intel. This is pace is the result of expansion of the middle class in Asia and the availability of 45% youth of the world in Asia. Intel is expecting that the coming years will bridge the gap between a tablet and a PC. The shifts from PCs to smart phones and tablets will grow much faster from now onwards.
